MALAYSIA MIRI CENTRALIZED SEWERAGE SYSTEM PROJECT

Miri, Malaysia is a Sarawak city bordering Brunei in Sarawak, Borneo. The oil field was discovered in the early 20th century and has since grown into an oil town. Miri is a city with a population of about 234,000, next to Kuching, the state capital. It is known to travelers as a gateway to Gunung Mulu National Park and Nia National Park.

The ethnic group consists mainly of Chinese, Dayak, Malay, Melanau, Indian, Kayan,
Kerabit, Vidayu, Penang and other indigenous peoples.

Around the 19th century, Miri was just a fishing village, but it has developed rapidly since the oil field was discovered in Canada Hill in 1910. Oceanic seismic surveys were conducted in the 1950s due to advances in offshore oil field technology, and oil was found in two marine areas in Sarawak in 1962, before the exploration of offshore oil fields began.

In recent years, underground infrastructure such as sewers has been developed even in Miri, where economic development has been remarkable, and UNCLEMOLE has also contributed significantly to Miri’s development.
