Medan Sewerage Network Project

Medan is the fourth largest city in Indonesia, located on the island of Sumatra, with a population of over 2 million. A sewerage network is a vital infrastructure in Medan, with high demand. In congested Medan, traditional open cut construction methods are no longer suitable, so pipe jacking construction methods were applied.

The Unclemole TCC 800 is a slurry tunneling machine that is best suited to the soil conditions in Medan. Due to concerns about sudden heavy rains, a locking door was installed to prevent flooding.

Soil conditions
Medan’s soil type varies from silty sand to gravelly sand. Uncle Mole can handle a variety of soil conditions, including clayey soil, sand, silt, gravel, and boulders. Iseki’s instructors supported the local construction company, which was attempting tunneling work for the first time, and taught them how to control the machine and how to manage the entire tunnel construction. The client, who was eager to learn new technology, became confident in controlling the machine and achieved a maximum progress of nearly 20 meters per day.

Miri Sewerage Project

Miri is a city in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, bordering Brunei in the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo. Oil fields were discovered in the early 20th century, and since then it has developed as an oil town. Miri city is adjacent to the state capital of Kuching and has a population of about 234,000. It is known to tourists as the gateway to Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah National Park.
The ethnicities are mainly Chinese, Dayak, Malay, Melanau, Indian, Kayan, Kelabit, Bidayuh, Penang, and other indigenous people.
In the 19th century, Miri was just a fishing village, but since the discovery of oil fields in Canada Hill in 1910, it has developed rapidly. In the 1950s, marine seismic exploration was carried out due to the advancement of offshore oil field technology, and oil was discovered in two sea areas of Sarawak in 1962, before the exploration of offshore oil fields began.
In recent years, underground infrastructure such as sewage systems has been developed in Miri, which has seen remarkable economic development, and Uncle Mole has also contributed greatly to the development of Miri.

Pipe Roof

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, famous for the 451m tall Petronas Twin Towers, is in urgent need of further development of its transportation network. The Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT), which will connect the east and west of the capital region, is currently under construction.

The pipe roof construction method using Unclemole Super was adopted for the underground crossing of the Kuala Lumpur-Selemban Expressway, which is a plan to cross several major arteries of the transportation network. As it is a large-scale project, daily inspections and safety inspections were carried out and the construction was completed with the utmost care.

Metro Manila Water Pipe Installation Project

The water supply and sewerage works in Metro Manila are outsourced to private companies. The construction of water supply and sewerage pipes was originally designed to be an open-cut method, but due to recent traffic conditions in Manila, the construction was changed to a trenchless method because of the possibility of causing further traffic congestion. Since the trenchless method can minimize the negative impact on traffic, the pipe jacking method will likely become the mainstream for water supply and sewerage works in the future.
