The roller cutter attached to the cutter head (face plate) can crush rocks and boulders larger than the tunneling machine, making it possible to carry out tunneling work. It also enables the tunneling machine to be launched separately, allowing tunneling from a small shaft and retrieval from an existing manhole when the tunneling machine reaches the target.
Product Features and Overview
The Unclemole Super Jr. is a mud-type tunneling machine that presses the roller cutter attached to the cutter head against the ground to crush rocks and boulders, takes in crushed gravel from the opening of the face plate, and performs secondary crushing with the tunneling machine’s cone crusher. The mud-return system discharges the soil from inside the tunnel to the outside of the tunnel. This is a universal tunneling machine that can handle all types of geology, from bedrock to gravel mixed with boulders, gravel layers, sandy soil, clayey soil, soft ground, and alternating ground. It also comes standard with a reflective direction guidance device (RSG), which makes it easy to keep the tip of the tunneling machine on the planned line, improving construction accuracy and operability.
In addition, by using the divided launch function of the tunneling machine in combination with a dedicated base push device and a half-pipe of a Hume pipe, it is possible to push construction from a small vertical shaft. In addition, it is possible to recover the material from an existing manhole when it reaches the target.
