Unclemole was developed by Iseki Poly-Tech, Inc., originally to meet the demand for small-bore tunneling in difficult ground conditions, then was improved to broaden the range of application.

Unclemole is a slurry-type microtunneling boring machine that utilizes slurry to transport excavated soil and has a built-in cone crusher in the front part to cope with hard ground involving cobbles and gravel.

The crushing structure has the capability of crushing particles up to 30 percent of the outside diameter into fragments small enough for transportation with slurry.

In addition, reflective steering guidance (RSG) is installed to ensure high precision pipe jacking.
